Hey, everyone! Thanks for coming back to check out my second blog entry. I got so many nice e-mails already about my first post that I couldn’t wait to write a second one!
If you looking for ways how to get long hair, then this post will definitely be useful to you. I am going to talk about a few important things that you need to know about hair, and how you can start to get healthier hair, and convince your hair that it needs to grow faster.
I won’t try to make this a science class, but I have to mention a little bit about the most important part of your hair – the hair follicle. Hair follicles are areas of your skin that creates hair by packing old cells together (kind of gross, I know!) As the hair follicles create more and more hair, it is continuously pushed outward, and viola – you’re hair is growing.
Even though I’m a nurse, I used to know very few details about hair (the babies that I deal with at work don’t have hair anyways, right?
), so I was really amazed when I found out some of the things that can help your follicles create healthier hair. The most important thing is that you need to keep your hair follicles healthy! This is one of the major secrets of how to get long hair – if your follicles aren’t healthy, then the hair they are producing won’t be healthy either. Since your hair follicles produce hair by packing old cells together, would you rather have healthy cells or damaged, unhealthy cells being used? Of course you want the healthy ones! It is super important to keep your skin in good health (since your follicles are part of the skin).
Whether you have blonde hair or black hair, curly hair or straight hair, it is important to keep your scalp and hair follicles in the best condition that you can. When you’re deciding in a shampoo and a conditioner, it is really important to pay the most attention to getting a conditioner that is right you’re your skin type (dry, oily, etc.). All shampoos are going to take the moisture out of your hair, so you need a conditioner that is right for you to put that moisture back and keep it there. In addition to that, there are many products that you can also apply to your hair and scalp to help stimulate the follicles health and growth. Some of these are $50 a bottle special products, or some are cheap, everyday natural items.
I hope my little biology lesson was helpful to you! Your discovery of how to get long hair needs to start with the basics… and our cells and follicles are about as basic as we come (another thing from Biology class!).
I plan on putting up a post in the next couple of days about how I got longer hair and the products and methods that I used. Thanks again for reading, and keep the lovely e-mails coming
